Fitting Procedure

At Right Price Blinds for the fitting of all our products including roller, venetian, vertical, day/night, roman and flyscreens, we only use fisher plasterboard plugs in the case of slabs.

These are 6x23mm and hook at the back of the slab. Please note that these fixtures are considered permanent and their removal will cause damage to the slab which will require filling, skimming, sanding and painting.

Each roller blind has c.5 of these fixings, 4 on the brackets and on on the child safety clip. The secure fitting of the child safety clip is a legal requirement and, if required, we will drill to the block wall or insert a stronger plug to ensure this is to the required legal standard.

These are rated to 3kg in 12.5mm plasterboard. We use a 6mm SDS drill for drilling. If the slab is substandard, we can use a heavier duty plug or drill to the back of the block.

In the case of block walls we generally use frame fixings which are drilled 50 to 75mm into the block. Please note that frame fixings cannot subsequently be removed.

In the case of steel lentils we pilot drill first, then tap and die, followed by a galvanised bold. In the case of higher catnic steel lentils we pilot hole and the use and appropriate self drilling screw.

Cassettes Flyscreens

These types of window fittings are generally fitted outside a building and are fitted using wall anchors or frame fixings. Teck 7 is used to seal the frame to the wall.

All of our fitters are trained in the use of power tools and reserve all necessary certification as per construction guidelines.
